Who am I?
👋 Hi there! I’m Andre Nader. I am on a mission to help fellow FAANG workers reach financial independence.
I have worked over 15 years in tech, with 9.5 years at Facebook on the Product Growth team. I write about FIRE from the perspective of a tech worker who is living through it.
There is a stigma that just because you earn a lot of money, you instantly know what you should be doing with it. FAANG FIRE is all about providing a free resource from someone you can trust that has walked in the same shoes you are walking through right now.
My original goal was to be able to AvocadoFIRE in the next 5 years after hitting my enough number. When I was laid off from Meta in May 2023, I found myself thrust into a semi-FIRE life ahead of schedule.
I am a father to a 8-year-old and partner to my amazing wife Corin (who is also in tech). I have lived in San Francisco for the past 10 years and love it. So now I am working on understanding what Enough for a Family to FIRE in San Francisco looks like.

Are you a highly paid tech worker? That is a good thing. Accept the privilege and capitalize on it. The true greatness of FIRE is the optionality that it gives you. You are standing on third base with 0 outs, you don’t need to be trying to hit home runs with every at bat.
Expect a lot of free dashboards helping you understand your total comp, spreadsheets, screenshots of spreadsheets, and other tools focused on setting you up to retire early.
